Gemma Nourse is a PhD candidate at the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society, within the Drugs, Gender and Sexuality Research Program. Her PhD draws on feminist theory, critical drug studies and science and technology studies to examine the relationship between performance and image-enhancing drugs (PIEDs) and masculinity. This research is contributing to Australian Research Council-funded project on PIED injecting among Australian men being undertaken by the Drugs, Gender and Sexuality Research Program and partners.
