Ms Hannah Blackwell

Hannah is a PhD candidate in the Drugs, Gender and Sexuality Program at the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society, La Trobe University. Hannah’s project examines ‘prescribed’ and ‘non-prescribed’ psychostimulant medication practices amongst young women in Australia. Her research explores how young women experience and make sense of their psychostimulant use, and how these practices are shaped by and intersect with broader social and cultural contexts, including gender and alcohol and other drug use. She is supervised by Dr Adrian Farrugia, Dr Dean Murphy, and Professor Kate Seear.

Hannah is also a registered Psychologist. and has experience in post-graduate teaching and research, private practice and hospital-based psychological therapy and rehabilitation consulting.
